Allows taxonomy terms to be indexed and searched.
Why use it
Taxonomy is usually used to categorize or label content but in some cases it makes sense to make taxonomy term pages appear in the search results.
Taxonomy terms can have associated data such as a description and since Drupal 7, can have other fields just like nodes. So sometimes taxonomy terms can also be considered content that have their own pages (taxonomy/term/....) on your site.
Because the default content search of Drupal only searches for nodes, those pages can't be found by your visitors by using the search.
This module indexes all of the contents associated to the terms and displays
Features
- 'mix' node results with term results
- choice of vocabularies to index
- also find words starting with the search term (also works for node results)
- uses view modes 'search index' and 'search result' to tweak what is being indexed or shown
