Gravatar favicon module lets you use your Gravatar image as shortcut icon, or 'favicon'.
Go to Administer -> Appearance -> Settings -> Current theme (/admin/appearance/settings) to configure options.
Enabling "Extra meta tags", additional sizes and apple touch tags for favicon are added which are used whle bookmarking or adding shortcut to homescreen on iOS/Android devices giving your sites shortcut nice icon instead of generic one.
*Note: Because Internet Explorer 10 and earlier does not support PNG favicon, it uses default favicon.
