This module extends Apache Solr's More Like This blocks by allowing the results to be restricted by content type. This setting can be changed on the mlt block's block configuration page, and includes the ability to automatically detect the content type of the node page the block appears on and restrict the content type to the same as that.
It is unlikely that more features will be added to this module - it probably makes more sense to create your own custom block / solr query if you need something much more complex than basic mlt functionality.
The functionality of this module is already in the 2.x branch of the apachesolr module, this module is for the 1.x branch.
