Digitalib

Digitalib (Digital Library) is a D6 module that provides a platform for archiving, preserving, managing and publishing on the internet various multimedia material. It is designed for cataloging using the interoperable online metadata standard Dublin Core, and then having the flexibility required by this standard.

With Digitalib you can:
- Create different collections containing digitized resources, like photos, images, documents, video, audio.
- Customize fields in the collections. Add new fields, new types, edit, delete, specify default values that will make faster the resources insertion. Each collection can have different fields.
- Catalog the resources using the Dublin Core standard.
- Search within the collections through a system of advanced research.
- Automatically generate Dublin Core and MAG diagrams for resources.

The idea is to give librarians and other who want to manage digital assets a 'ready-to-use product'. The focus is on metadata and search. The cataloging follows the standard Dublin Core, allowing as required the possibility to define the fields of cataloging and to duplicate them.
