Paired with the powerful Fusion base theme, Fusion Accelerator puts easy point-and-click styling of basic Drupal elements within easy reach of site administrators. The philosophy behind the Fusion theming system hinges on applying Drupal’s inherit modularity to the theme layer. This system brings the ability to easily tweak the styling of a site, create new content or re-arrange a site’s layout to site administrators or builders who do not have traditional theming skills.

Fusion Accelerator

Quickly and easily generate new Fusion-friendly CSS grid files from the Drupal UI. Whether you’re a theme developer building a new site from scratch or using a pre-built Fusion-based theme, you can easily change the grid layout of your site using the files generated by this module. If you site calls for an oddly-specific width or unusual number columns, you don’t have to worry about the math work and checking cross-browser compatibility for your custom grid!

Responsive Layouts for Fusion-based Themes

Fusion Accelerator 7.x-2.0-beta1 introduces support for Responsive layouts based on media queries in Fusion-based themes. Choose different layouts for devices such as desktop browsers, tablets (portrait or landscape) and smartphones.

Fusion Apply

Fusion Apply allows theme developers to build modular, reusable Skins that are applied, via the Drupal UI, to different Drupal elements such as blocks, menus, views, etc. This functionality can help expedite the theming process, preserve the inherit flexibility of Drupal for site administrators and provide clients with more control over their site’s layout and content.

Without Fusion Apply styles for Drupal elements are hard-coded into the CSS using element IDs and adding a new element means editing CSS to target the new ID.

When you use Fusion Apply you create CSS styles for one class name, which can be applied to multiple Drupal elements and re-used throughout the site without editing CSS.

A note about Fusion Apply and Skinr

Users who are familiar with using the Fusion base theme will recognize the functionality of Fusion Apply as being strikingly similar to the Skinr module, and they won’t be mistaken. Due to some development issues with Skinr in the early stages of the Drupal 7 release, Skinr functionality was forked and rolled into Fusion Accelerator.

Which version should I use?

Always match the major version number of Fusion Accelerator with the major version number of Fusion Core that you are using.
