IDFix is the Drupal 7 successor off AsterX, which is only available for Drupal 6. The functionality is basicly the same but the overall architecture if comletely revamped. That means, more events and more granularity. IDFix for Drupal 7 is the core API module which is responsible for fetching, caching and parsing configurations. Aside of that it implements the basics for storage and an eventhandling layer. All other functionality will be available as a separate module. For more info see the AsterX project and it's documentation site.
Note:
IDFix development is on hold right now. Why? Mwww....... difficult decision. For Asterix I choose (reasons of Performance) for an implementation based on my own set of tables and my own queriebuilder. Yes I know, I could have chosen a node/cck/views implemenation. But I didn't. Asterix is working like a charm. I'm using it more and more. It's robust and fast.
But....... rebuilding it for Druapl 7 just didn't make (enough) sense. So I'm going to choose the route of building a Wrapper module for node/cck/views. More of a challenge, but also closer to the Drupal API. And maybe the wrong decision, because of performance? But.. what the heck? Let's try it?
