The Auto-download module allows privileged users to create automatic downloads for their sites.
First, the user creates an 'assignment' between an existing node page in Drupal and a file (can be external).
When any user accesses the page associated with the assignment, the requested file is automatically downloaded.
After the 'assignment' has been created, it can later be changed and toggled on/off.
