This module provides passively refreshed page cache.
Users never have to wait for a cacheable response because cached responses do not expire. Instead, they "refresh" by performing an indirect asynchronous request to update the page cache.
This module passively supports Authcache via a reverse proxy. In response to a proxy request advertising support for passive secure sub-requests, this module takes care of instructing the proxy to retrieve the appropriate cacheable page.
Notes
If using Redirect, under Administration » Configuration » Search and metadata » URL redirects, enable the option Allow redirects to be saved into the page cache and save.
Passive Authcache reverse proxy
In order for a reverse proxy to serve Authcache-enabled pages, the proxy must be configured to:
- Passively perform a sub-request on
HTTP/1.1 363 Passive Response(custom) from backend usingLocationandX-Passiveheaders. - Indicate it supports passive requests via
X-Passive-Proxy: true.
This module will take care of:
- Instructing the passive proxy server to perform a passive request.
- Return a passive response with a cache duration and the appropriate
Varyheader relevant to Authcache.
