Entity Unique

Allows site administrators to set any Entity type as unique.
Motivation of this module is to give as generic solution as possible to site builders.

You can choose what fields/properties of entity will be take in account to determine uniqueness.

How it works

This module checks uniqueness in two steps.
1 On entity add/edit form throws standard form errors if entity is not unique
2 On entity_presave to prevent to add not unique entity programmatically .

Configuration

Install and enable module as usual. On every entity bundle edit new local task "Entity unique" will be shown. You can choose scope of entity uniqueness and fields/properties to determine is entity is unique.

Usage note

To avoid users confusions all fields chosen to calculate entity uniqueness should be marked as required

Current status

This module was tested with following entity types

• taxonomy term
• node
• user
• field collection (works only on own fc forms not embedded ones)

After official release i plan to extend it to other entity types.
