Simple Node Importer is a simple module which imports nodes using CSV files. It provides the functionality for mapping UI to map CSV columns to it's corresponding entity field.
Synopsis
Simple Node Importer allows a user to import nodes using CSV files in a Drupal site. The module implements this functionality by allowing users to map a CSV file columns to it's respective Content type field. This makes column mapping process very easy as the user is no longer required to predefine column to field mapping.Features are listed below:
- Module Configuration page allows admin user to allow content type for which import functionality will be available.
- Module Configuration page is also providing an option to the admin user to add non-existing taxonomy terms under vocabulary.
- Module provides mapping screen where user can map accordingly.
- Module allows multi valued field importing.
- Module is implemented for all the core fields, Term reference and Email field.
- Module provides a UI for the failure records (Resolution Center) which can also be downloaded in CSV format.
Requirements
Module supports all the Drupal core fields, Term reference & E-mail field.
Roadmap
At present, Simple Node Importer provides feature of importing nodes for "any" content type present in your system and allows to download the failure records in CSV format. Features which are still under development are:
- Support to import other entities like user, taxonomy terms, vocabulary
- Support to update existing imported items.
- Additional options to get data like FTP, XML, JSON along with CSV file.
- Resolution Center with additional features like prompt the failure reason, fix the error from the resolution center itself.
- Support for other entity fields.
- Support to set cron for importing.
- Support with web services.

Similar projects and how they are different
Feeds Module
It requires to create importer first. For multi valued fields, user needs Feeds Tamper module.
Feed Import
Does not provides UI for mapping fields to end user.
Dependencies
This project has no module dependencies. However, having the entity module installed can be useful for some special entities.
Installation
This module get install in the same manner as other module does.
You need to download it and save it into "sites/all/modules" directory and enable it from the "admin/modules" page.
