Comment Global Disable

By default, there's really no way to turn comments off completely for a given content type. You can make them closed by default, but the "Comment settings" vertical tab still shows up when adding or editing a node. Administrative users will still see the "Comment fields" and "Comment display" local tasks when managing content types, too. This module allows administrative users to disable comments completely for selected content types.

When comments are globally disabled using this module, the "Comment settings" vertical tab on nodes and the "Comment fields" and "Comment display" local tasks will not be shown at all.

The main use case for Comment Global Disable is when you have many content types but want to have comments enabled for only one or two of them. This will prevent comment settings from cluttering up the majority of your content types that don't need comments.

To use this module, just enable it as you would enable any Drupal module. When creating or editing a content type, you will see a new "Disable all comments" checkbox in the "Comment settings" vertical tab.
