Filefield Hotfolder allows admins to configure a directory in the file system as a hotfolder where incoming files are attached to nodes during cron runs as CCK file fields according to configurable rules.
Standalone the module is quite basic allowing one content type and one field to attach files to, with revisions detected by timestamp. The module features hooks to allow other modules to define validation rules and add more types and fields for different file types.
