Component body

Incommunities is a Drupal module that allows users to share contents inside a community of people they belong to. (Like a google+ circle or a facebook group).

TECHNICAL DETTAILS:
The sharing is based on 3 taxonomies:

  • commands
  • users
  • groups

this means that contents could be shared with every kind of "predefined" group.
As an example, we could take the tenants of a condominium: any tenant has the possibility to decide to share the contents of a petition or a complaint only with specific people or groups, for example the tenants of the same floor, the same building, the same street or the same neighborhood.
Another example could be the organizer of a sport championship: he could share contents with the different teams' management and the statistics with the single players.
Every group can be defined like a "tag" and be included as a taxonomy in a dedicated vocabulary.

The methods of multiple sharing among groups/users are based on inclusion, intersection and exclusion.
Tags used are:

  • "Any of these" (OR):the content is shared with the users belonging to one mentioned group.
  • "All of these"(AND):the content is shared with users belonging to all the mentioned groups.

Extension:
Inncommunities can be increased in terms of COMMAND TAGS. For example, through the module "Distance incommunities, the group identified by the special tag "NEAR/CLOSE" (that represents all the neighbours of the user, who is sharing content) can be built in a dynamic way by drawing a circle (like Google Puls Circle) shaped around the user (200 mt, 500 mt, 1000 mt, 1500 mt, 3000 mt)
Geolocation information in user profiles should of couse be available.

INSTALLATION:
This is a standard installation:

  • run the zipped package download
  • install New User Tag module first
  • run the installation of all the depend. module
  • run the installation inside Drupal's portal

DEPENDENCES:

Incommunities is conceived within the Condiviviamo Project developed at the University of Milano-Bicocca and supervised by Federico Cabitza, PhD.
