Field Collection Slideshow

One way to create slideshow elements is using field_collection module. Field Collection Slideshow enables it by creating a separate block of rendered elements intended to slideshow library to be used.

Installation
1. Download and Install the following:

• https://www.drupal.org/project/field_collection
• https://www.drupal.org/project/entity
• https://www.drupal.org/project/field_collection_slideshow

2. Download additional libraries at least one

• FlexSlider
  - Download at https://github.com/woothemes/FlexSlider/zipball/master extract to flexslider
• fullPage.js
  - Download at https://github.com/alvarotrigo/fullPage.js/zipball/master extract to fullpage
• Swiper
  - Download at https://github.com/nolimits4web/Swiper/zipball/master extract to swiper
• Animated Responsive Image Grid
  - Download at https://github.com/codrops/AnimatedResponsiveImageGrid/zipball/master extract to animatedresponsiveimagegrid

Move libraries into /sites/all/libraries/
3. Create a content type and add a field collection, please refer to field_collection module
4. Add fields of the created field collection at http://[yoursite]/admin/structure/field-collections
5. Enable at http://[yoursite]/admin/structure/field-collections/slideshow
6. Manage your block page http://[yoursite]/admin/structure/block and assign the generated block on the region you want. The block name starts with "[FC-Slideshow]" prefix.
7. Add css/styling if you have multiple items in field_collection.

Advantages

• Slideshow using content-type means per slide is equivalent to a node, now creating 5 slides is equivalent to 5 nodes that makes it harder to edit per slide, thats where field_collection is a good way to create slides so you can manage your slide in one page with all the sorting that you want.
• Now for site that needs different sets of slideshow like product sites, news sites, portfolio of different services, what you can do is to create 5 sets of field_collections and create each one a views slideshow which is quite a tedious job so you can create a views block, while this module enable you to create 5 field_collection in a content type then create a node and populate your field_collections, just go to admin and click the field_collection that you want to enable and you will have the slideshow blocks ready on the fly to attach anywhere. Meaning no more views configuration.
• Numerous sliding library options (flexslider, fullpage for now), even turning your field_collection into fullPage slide section like a 1 pager site. Or a 1 pager full-page section of per field_collection element.
• All your field_collection can reside into one content-type with at least one node that makes all your slideshow will have a configuration page

Similar Modules
Views Slideshow - If you want to use the default jQuery sliding feature, this a very good module but hard to manage if you have multiple sets of slideshow to make.
FlexSlider Field Collection - using FlexSlider only as a field formatter
Field Slideshow - using jQuery Cycle and serves as a formatter.
