Indicators module is used to manage and graphically display (chart) multi-dimensional statistical data (indicators). Indicators may be used as base for calculated values. Many different indicators can be displayed on one page.
Additionally, it provides a geographical interface to select a country or region, and lets you to create a PDF file.
The main functionality of Indicators:
Import of remote statistical data. Two formats are currently supported:
- Eurostat
- StatPlanet
Importing large statistical data from remote source removes the manual task of manually maintaining and importing input files, thus saving time and avoiding mistakes.
The indicators can be queried and the result displayed as text, tables or charts. The following chart engines are supported:
The geographical interface supports the following engines:
- OpenLayers
- FusionMaps
- Custom-built (using Mapper.js)
The UI of the module is based on Panels.
The work on the module has been sponsored by DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs of the European Commission. The statistics are provided by Eurostat but can be custom-built. The map files (in vector format) are provided by Eurostat.
Internally, indicators are kept in raw SQL tables, with the API provided by Data module.
