This project aims to create a complete Views integration of the jQuery Superslides plugin, a full page jQuery (image-based) slider.
See an example of the plugin here.
The architecture of this code owes a debt to views_fluidgrid, from which conventions were heavily borrowed.
The current implementation provides only a default initialization method and Views row plugin.
Todos:
- Integrate all initialization options into Views.
- Provide a few default styles.
- Allow for built in hash-based menu support e.g. slide#1, slide#2, etc.
- Any other feature requests!
Usage:
1. Download and unzip the module into your custom/contrib directory.
Note: As of now (9/3/2014), this Sandbox supports only up to 0.6.2 version of Supserslides, since 0.6.3 causes issues with the hashchange navigation.
2. Clone the superslides project locally: http://nicinabox.github.com/superslides/
3. Check Out the 0.6.2 version:
$ git checkout aa49d64e98
4. Copy the contents of the /dist directory into a folder called "superslides" in your libraries directory (Views Superslides requires the Libraries API). You can do this manually, or run this from the command line (replace /path-to-drupal-install/ with the the path to your site):
mkdir /path-to-drupal-install/sites/all/libraries/superslides
$ cp -r dist/* /path-to-drupal-install/sites/all/libraries/superslides/

5. Enable the module and create a new view with a list of entities. Select "Views Superslides" under the Format section of the View. You'll be prompted for options--90% of the time the defaults will suffice, so try it without adjusting them first, and then change values as needed.
If there's an image attached, that is what the superslides plugin will automatically set to be the background of the slide. You can add a `.preserve` class to an image you don't want to set as a background (if the plugin is picking the wrong one).
