What it Does
This module provides fielded nodes for plant data based on the USDA database at plants.usda.gov.
The browseable and ASCII database generation tool is found at: http://plants.usda.gov/adv_search.html
Downloadable ASCII databases are in CSV format, and can represent all data about all plants in the database, or subsets such as invasive species for a specific state.
Potential Uses
Garden planning and discussion, local plant-spotting.
Setup
The module comes with a default, small CSV database of some Wisconsin plants, and including about 25 database-specific fields. Larger databases with many fields work just as well, but take longer to install and uninstall.
On installation, this module loads a CSV from the /includes directory and builds plant data fields and nodes from the provided data.
