Web Experience Toolkit 4 (wet_boew) Splash Page and Server Error Pages

What is the Web Experience Toolkit (WET)?

A front-end framework used to build accessible, mobile friendly, and multilingual websites. It is open source and led by the Government of Canada (http://wet-boew.github.io/wet-boew/index-en.html).

Project Overview

This module creates a splash page and server error pages following the specific style and structure laid out by the Web Experience Toolkit (WET). The module creates specific variables that are accessible through the site information (admin/config/system/site-information) page. These variables can (and should) be set up to be multilingual in order to meet the Government of Canada's bilingual standards.

The splash page variables include page title, English and French homepage URLs, and English and French Terms of Service URLs. The splash page is setup so that the default Drupal Front Page variable can still be used to define the nodes for the English and French home pages.

The server error page variables include page titles and body content for both 404 and 403 error pages. There is a toggle button that allows these pages to either not be used, allowing the default Drupal 404 and 403 error page variables be used, or for this module to override those variables.

What is the difference between the WET Theme and the WET Distribution?

The Web Experience Toolkit distribution (https://www.drupal.org/project/wetkit) is a content management system. If you prefer an out-of-the-box system, please refer to the distribution.

This suite is meant for site builders who prefer to have a bit more control and provides a simple roadmap for upgrading WET components. By decoupling the features and leveraging Drupal’s module and theming system, we are able to provide quicker theme updates.

Can I install this theme on an existing WET distribution site?

Yes, this theme is compatible with the WET Distribution, allowing existing Drupal installations to be upgrade to the latest version of the Web Experience Toolkit.
