Enki is like the crazy scientist version of https://www.drupal.org/project/devel_themer . This one wraps theme functions and templates and puts information in comments instead of making them visible. The information includes the name of the theme hook and the name of every variable, followed by a list of (pre)process function that added or changed this variable. A * before the variable name means it was there before (pre)process.
The module does not touch the theme registry, everything is run time. This might be useful in the future to constraint the variable dumps by a query argument or any other cool feature we can think of. You are encouraged to file issues!
Speed and memory usage was definitely not a concern when writing this. Using this on production is very, very strongly discouraged.
To quote Wikipedia, "Enki was the deity of crafts; mischief; water, seawater, lakewater, intelligence and creation". This fits the module on so many levels (think Drupal-drop-water / intelligence / creation / Snow Crash tribute).
