OpenMLS is a real estate registrar module for third-party organizations interested in becoming Accredited OpenMLS Registrars (AOR). This module is the community edition for potential AORs to download, test, and integrate within their own website before applying for accreditation. All AORs must be accredited before connecting to the primary OpenMLS Registry and then for providing their registrar services to the public.
OpenMLS will provide the following minimal and generic registrar functionality:
- Create user account
- Sign in user
- Sign out user
- Create a listing
- Read a listing
- Update a listing
- Delete a listing
- Search for a listing
- And more features to be added
The OpenMLS Network model is a neutral, open platform built on top of the Internet for allowing accredited registrars to offer public MLS services to buyers, sellers, and industry practitioners and organizations. AORs are organizations which have been accredited by the Global Real Estate And Technology Consortium (GR8C) to join and participate in the OpenMLS Network for offering registrar services. In contrast to Domain Name Registrars, AORs allow registrants to register, also referred to as list, their listings with the AOR. Once listed, listings are available to users for searching and browsing of real estate listings within the OpenMLS Network from any AOR. AORs connect directly and securely to the GR8C's Registry which globally distributes listings to all AORs.
