The slices module harnesses the Node-level Blocks module to slice up a page, and layout fields / field collections in various regions available on the page. Slice management can then be made available to the end user, or simply as a tool for crafting multiple page layouts from one content type. The key ingredient of slices is in the mapping of a field / field collection to a block.
Using this module you will be able to select the image cropping portion for selected image styles. So the front end will use that specific cropped image without loosing the important area of the image. The default image cropping will not provide you the option to specify the portion of the image, using this module you could select during the each image upload for any specific image styles.

Panel Pane Scheduler provides 2 access plugins for scheduling the display of Panels Panes.
The first plugin (Date time schedule) gives the user the option to display or hide a Panels pane
if the current date falls between a 'Display from' and 'Display until' date and
time range.
The second plugin (Date time recurring schedule) lets the user setup a recurring schedule with the options of
daily, weekly, monthly and yearly patterns and this can run forever, a number of times or until a certain date.
