The Splash Editor project aims to build on these ideas and provide a single framework for "injecting" stuff into Drupal. Splash Editor comes with the following features:
This module places tabs on content, users and taxonomy terms to quickly jump to the page to modify the fields for this content type. When developing a site with a lot of content types or otherwise, this makes it easier to make fixes to the entities when you see a problem in the content.
A future enhancement is to provide tabs on the content types that go to queries of the content.
