Taxonomy

Taxonomy is one of the coolest features of Drupal, allowing the creation of information which is organized and structured. Taxonomy can be key for your visitors to find what they are looking for.

Creating a high-quality and complex taxonomy is a lot of work. Folksonomies and tagging makes for a more accessible implementation, but some of the value of having hierarchical, structured taxonomy for disambiguation is lost. The machine tags module is meant to fill a void between people-friendly tagging and machine-friendly hierarchy.

BlockTerm lets you specify taxonomy terms to show this block on. When you visit a page where the node is tagged with one of these terms, the block will show, otherwise it won't.

This module will allow you to change the taxonomy terms associated with a node from a comment on that node. The module provides a set of permissions that allow you to limit this to only certain vocabularies, as well as to certain user roles.

The intended use of this module is primarily for allowing project issue nodes to have terms alterable via project issue comments, and runs the "issue tagging" feature of drupal.org. But this module does not limit this functionality to project issues.

This module allows you to use the menu the current page belongs to for the breadcrumb, generating breadcrumbs from the titles of parent menus. In the Drupal 6 and 7 version, you may also:

This module provides a set of blocks which show 'related' content based on a selected term. The block will pick a default term and provide a select box which, via the awesome powered of JQuery, will slide the old content up, AJAX the site for other nodes and finally slide down a new list of nodes.

These blocks are completely configurable can dynamically show other recent content from each category for the current node.

Also known as the save the nodes module. Lead documenter Steven Peck (and presumably a couple hundred others with delete nodes permissions) has agreed to not remove old documentation nodes if a properly clear warning that pages for unsupported Drupal versions are likewise deprecated and not maintained. (Background, we came to terms in person at the last days of DrupalCon.)

This module allows adding menu entries for taxonomy terms when adding or editing the terms (in the same way that they can be when adding/editing nodes). This is available to anyone with administer taxonomy and administer menu permissions.
