DIY Edition:

I haven't been maintaining this module, largely because I don't use it myself. Its functionality is easy to create with just a few lines of custom code. Stephenh made a tutorial handbook page on http://drupal.org/node/562744 to walk through how to alter your my account page with code, geared to those who have never written Drupal code before. My recommendation is to follow his tutorial instead of relying on this module.

Retrieves Skype status information via Skype's public presence service for users to display in their profile and also provides a block for site-wide usage (available only in D7!).

Note: Skype's presence service returns an "Unknown" status unless you've enabled "Allow my status to be shown on the web" in your Skype client's privacy options.

This module creates a table listing all information about users, including any custom profile fields.
User Info's current focus is to display everything that Drupal knows about registered users. It does not (currently) interface in any way, shape, or form with CCK or Views.

Warning: - Don't use this with the Advanced Profile module. See This Issue for details.

This module provides a generic membership entity and an optional "membership provider" plugin type.

Drupal 8

While this module shares a namespace with earlier Drupal 5/6 modules, it does not inherit any code or architecture.

Development occurs on GitHub (fork and submit pull requests there) while utilizing the Drupal.org issue queue.

This project is still very much under development and meta-discussions around future plans and architecture are welcome.

• Auto Assign Role Module

Allows the user to add a fifth component on the user registration URL containing a comma-separated list of roles to be automatically assigned to the newly-created user.

For example:

User Permissions provides an interface for giving additional permissions to individual users without the need to assign them to a special role. When this module is enabled, users with the 'administer permissions' permission can access the 'User Permissions' tab on each user's account.
