This module is for site owners that do not want to require that users validate their email address when creating an account - because we all know that's extremely annoying for users to do. But, we still want to try to minimize spam as much as possible.
This module provides access to Delivra's SOAP API. This module will allow other modules in Drupal to perform functions on your email list such as CRUD on users, list management, as well as other operations. It also provides a very simple status page that will show you some general reports from Delivra obtained live from their web service.
Delivra has made a change to their service since this module started. They now allow all accounts to use their SOAP 1.1 based API. That opens the doors to a much more featured Drupal module.
This module allows the single-sign-on system provided by the Bakery module to be optional, rather than required for all users.
Users who first create an account on the Bakery master site will be able to visit the slave sites have their account information and sessions propagated (just like they normally can on sites using Bakery). However, users who try to register on the slave site will be allowed to create a completely local account.
The role_delay module enables the configuration of one or more user roles that all new users are automatically granted after a specified period of time from registration. A role delay of 0 (zero), will automatically assign that role to every user at creation time.

This module leverages Drupal user roles to create different profiles for users.
It creates a multi-step user registration form in order to display fields associated with roles. A key aspect of this module that makes it different from other profile modules is that fields can be associated with multiple roles at a time. Field labels can be customized according to role.

Auto Username disables the "Username" field on user registration and user edit forms and generates a username automatically using a token.module-provided pattern. That allows for usernames that are, for instance, forced to be "Lastname, Firstname", "Firstname Last-initial", etc.
This sandbox project is a Drupal 7 port of this module. Hopefully, this will be added to the official project (http://drupal.org/project/auto_username) at some point.
First idea. Allow google plus like access control via Active Tag like audience fields
The OG Preapproved module provides a field to allow group administrators to enter a list of email addresses or domains as pre-approved users for that group. If a user creates and account and attempts to join a group in which their email address has been pre approved, they will automatically be approved to the site.
The Google Contacts Synchronizer module allows Drupal website administrators to synchronize Gmail contacts with existing drupal users.
Synchronization works both ways:
- Google to Drupal
- Drupal to Google

Access code module allows site visitors to log in using an access code instead of entering username and password. The module aims at expediting the process of setting up and distributing account information to new users. It is intended to be used in cases where user accounts will most likely be accessed a few times only, and you don't want the users to go through the hassle of setting up a username and password.
