Widget allows you to define additional theme/module widgets that can be exposed as blocks. The widgets are defined from a yml file and are stored as configuration.

Widget concept

The idea behind "Widget" is to allow the front end to create reusable components that are easily configurable on the back end.

A widget can be:
- A simple header image with text in front
- A simple map
- A profile box
- ..

This is an example module for crawling news per topic from different sources like twitter, google news, reddit etc. and create a timeline using timeline.js https://timeline.knightlab.com/

How it works?
1. User first flags some topics
2. Module crawls those topics for the user on each cron job
3. It saves the data with their popularity
4. Then creates a timeline from the saved data, filtered by their popularity

Due to a spelling error in the shortname, this module is discontinued in preference to Views Reference Field which has a shortname which is correctly spelled.

The Views Reference Field module is exactly the same as this one. There are no differences whatsoever. This change is simply due to a spelling error in the shortname, which is potentially untidy moving forward. Thank-you for your patience.
