The goal of the rm_microtempaltes plugin is to allow users to create their own templates for defined regions on a Drupal website. Take a blogging-website: you want your site to generally look the same, but allow for different template-styles in the content area. The use case when starting to write this module was, that I wanted to be able to have some blog-posts appear on a dark background, while others should be on plain white. Then I wanted some posts to use an image- or video-background - or a different border-top-styling. I wanted templates to be reusable. If it had been intended as a single-user blog, the easiest solution would have been to simply add templates to ckeditor. As it is a multiuser blog and I aimed to enable registered bloggers to user either default templates or create to creaate and maintain their own, private themes , I decided to start building this module.
