Edit

Please see the successor to this module: Quick Edit. It's the same code, it's just been renamed.

(Drupal 8 ships with Edit, but decided to rename it to Quick Edit. Hence we did the same to the Drupal 7 backport, for consistency and patch portability.)

Hence this project only has version 7.x-1.0 — version 7.x-1.1 and later can be found at https://www.drupal.org/project/quickedit!

This project is now solely a historical artefact. It also contains the original work we did in Drupal 7, the porting of Edit to Drupal 8, and then the backport from the more refined version that was developed directly in Drupal 8.
