New Book by Default

New Book by Default is a simple module that allows administrators to set which content types (e.g. Book page) will have the "<create a new book>" option enabled by default.

This may be useful when creating and structuring content using the Book outline hierarchy.

Note: This was the first module I created when I started learning Drupal. It's very similar to the example shown in Pro Drupal Development, by John VanDyk, and could be useful as a module example for new Drupal developers. However, the functionality of the module is quite limiting, and you may find a better alternative for your site. For instance, see Book made simple for a more powerful, complex solution.
