Menu Reference Field

This project provides a menu reference field type.

This is a simple module that covers a unique feature currently not delivered by other modules like Entity Reference or the Menu Link modules.

Features

• one widget that lists modules present in the menu_custom table
• one display formatter that uses the default output of theme('link',...)
• option to choose no menu to display

This project was made possible mainly thanks to the excellent documentation of the examples project, with additional insights provided by Brandon Cone's article as well as looking at code implemented by other modules that provide field types.

I built this module as part of a more elaborate primary navigation system that can be found on this site.
