Commerce VIP Discount

In the action sports industry, brands encourage industry and retail shop employees to purchase their brand's product and create a brand loyalty by providing them with a special discount. This discount is often 50-70% off MSRP or a % off of wholesale prices (usually a price above landed cost). The traditional method was to use to fill out a physical paper form with the product and reduced price. As technology caught up to this archaic method, brands began doing this online. They would distribute "proform" registration codes via business cards or other media. People would then register these codes on their website and purchase discounted product from a brand specific "proform" website. The customer was usually allowed to make 1 order with their associated "proform" registration code. Often times their would be other restrictions, such as quantity limit or dollar amount restriction. This prevented customers from taking advantage of the brand's generous discount.

This module aims to replicate this process for Drupal Commerce web stores. We have now changed the word "proform" to VIP in the hopes that this module could be more easily understood outside of the outdoor sports industry.

VIP (proform) Workflow

1. Customer Registers their VIP Code (either new or existing customer)
2. Customer is Given the User Role of "Proform" Upon Successful Registration
3. Customer Continues to Shop with New Discount Applied to Commerce Price.
4. Rules Restrict Order Total Quantity to Specified Amount (defaults to 7 items)
5. Once Customer Places Order -> "Proform" User Role is Removed from Customer Profile
