For developers

How does it work?

Rapit places itself between locale() and the static locale cache, wrapping all source strings and appending identifiers.
On the client side Javascript takes care of finding and removing identifiers and creating an internal list of all strings that were found.

Custom bound marks

Bound mark strings are stored in a single Drupal variable, but can be overridden individually. Example (settings.php):

$conf['rapit_bound_markers']['start']       = '[RS]';
$conf['rapit_bound_markers']['id']          = '[RI]';
$conf['rapit_bound_markers']['end']         = '[RE]';
$conf['rapit_bound_markers']['param_start'] = '[PS]';
$conf['rapit_bound_markers']['param_id']    = '[PI]';
$conf['rapit_bound_markers']['param_end']   = '[PE]';

Be sure to read the guidelines in rapit.module.
