User Info Block

In short

This module provides you with a block to either display:

• The current logged in user
• The current node author
• The list of users (targeted by username)

Motivation

Have you ever needed to display the current user in your sidebar or header? Or to display the current node author? Maybe to feature specific users? This is what this module exists for.

It enables you to render a user view mode wherever you want on your site. You can select the view mode and which users you want to display.

By default, the block displays the current logged in user but you can also choose to display multiple users (selected by username) or to display the the current node's author.

Bonus:

You can easily add extra classes on the block for front-end integration.

Entity Block module also provides a block that can reference an entity. It is more generic and let you reference any kind of entity type but does not provide other options than to select the view mode your entity will be render in.
