Featured Content Slider now has a new release 7.x-1.1
What is Featured Content Slider?
Featured Content Slider is a module to feature latest nodes in a block that displays as a slideshow. This makes a featured slideshow out of node content displayed in the block.

2. Nice, configurable, themable slider.
3. You can control options like fade, auto-rotate, speed etc.
4. Can be associated with multiple content types (upto 3).
5. Comes configured with multiple blocks (upto 3)
6. New release has a contrib module that supports preconfigured images using imagecache, themeing, automatically creates a content type when the module is installed
and also supports embedded videos. It also automaitcally creates thumbnails for embdeded videos. It displays the slider like this one: http://www.cirm.ca.gov/ out of the box when installed.
Note:We have not tested contrib custom slider working together with the main slider yet.
