Media

This modules provides actions (as defined by the Actions module) to help manage media files. Currently, it implements storing video files from CCK nodes on blip.tv (uploading, updating and deleting the file).

Drupal 6 Status: we are waiting for CCK and emfield to work properly in Drupal 6 before finishing the port of Media Actions to D6. In the meantime, we started porting Media Actions to Actions 2.0, which is a backport of Drupal 6 actions into Drupal 5. You may want to try that; it is not fully tested yet. Get it from CVS HEAD.

Media Manager is designed for easily managing the incoming media from a variety of sources. It provides for media simply as files, or, by using the media_nodes module, allows media to have the full benefits of nodes. Media can be attached to nodes, providing the ability for playlists or slideshows, and display of images, audio and video within a node.

There are quite a few features planned to be added, however, the first deployable version will be rather limited.

Requires Media API.

This API is meant to be used in place of the API provided by image.inc. You probably do not need to install this module unless another module are you using requires it. It provides no new features to your Drupal site. It only provides an API other modules can leverage. Currently GD2 and ImageMagick support are distributed with ImageAPI.

This module is specifically for Drupal 6 and older. This module has been integrated into Drupal 7, with the exception of ImageMagick integration, which has been moved to the ImageMagick project.

The Teaser Thumbnail module allows you to automatically generate thumbnails for your node teasers and RSS feeds from the pictures included in the body or the attachments of the nodes. This module depend on ImageCache 2 and works with views.

FFMPEG for video transcoding.

This is currently in the works for a solution to replace the video.module's version of ffmpeg.

This module was aimed to allow users to easily attach media to nodes, and publish those media in a gallery view.

What do we consider Media?

When you mix images + audio, you got a video. When you want to display those 3 kind of resources in a node... you want Media.

The podtrac module is an add-on for the audio module that replaces the audio modules built in download tracking with Podtracs Track & Analyze service.

Before you start using this module head over to podtrac.com, setup your podcast or audio feed, and enable Track & Analyze. After you setup podtrac you can start using this module and you can view your statistics on podtracs website.

This module was updated on March 27, 2008. It contains numerous changes, including transferring definition of types, transforms, presenters, extensions to hookable functions. Although this is a development module, and therefore not yet for production sites, it is in a beta state.

This module provides an API for which extensions, types, presenters, transformations, administrative capabilities, layouts, filters, and other things can be defined by other modules for acting upon files located with the system.

Lets users "draw" shapes on top of images with canvas & Jquery UI, and save the result as an image node. Currently supports:

MimeDetect provides a complete system for detecting the actual content of files in your Drupal site.

By default, Drupal provides a "guessing" system based on the filename extension. This is very weak and your site could store files with real content different from the one indicated by its extension.
