This theme is an implementation of the "Holy Grail" layout, as presented by Matthew Levine's 2006 article in A List Apart: http://www.alistapart.com/articles/holygrail

Levine wrote that he wanted a system which:

• Had a fluid center with fixed width sidebars,
• Allowed the center column to appear first in the source,
• Allowed any column to be the tallest,
• Required only a single extra div of markup, and
• Required very simple CSS, with minimal fussing.

This is indeed an incredibly flexible theme and uses a little CSS to do a lot of the heavy lifting. Your 'main content' will appears first in the source code before the 'secondary content', regardless of how it appears on the page. "Sidebar-Content-Sidebar" layouts, "Content-Sidebar-Sidebar", "Sidebar-Sidebar_Content", are all super-easy to create and edit, using only CSS. You can also create fixed width themes adding a single line of CSS.

This theme is meant to target developers who have a decent grasp of CSS. My goal is to develop this theme as a lightweight base theme and allow fast and agile development of 'semantically nice' sub-themes.

This theme is used as the base theme of the OpenScholar project.

This theme was first developed by Crell, then by NancyDru and now by Shaun Wolf Wortis.

This is a re-implementation of the Contented7 theme by Tom Rowan. This is a tableless, multi-column, fluid width layout. Parts of the design are ported from K2 theme. This theme is part of the project PantaRei Siren.

Installation

(2011-07-24) This theme is now revamp as Zen subtheme (http://drupal.org/project/zen). You will need to install it with this theme as below:

Port of the Andreas03 template by Andreas Viklund. Fixed-width 2-column layout, built with speed and accessibility in mind. The andreas03 template has a small file size, a simple layout for easy editing, good accessibility features and semantic markup.

This theme conforms to Section 508 and to W3C's WCAG 1.0, level AA. The code is valid XHTML 1.0 Strict and CSS (no warnings).

Five small images have been used for the design, adding only 3 kilobytes to the template load size (which is approximately 12kb). This theme would suit a blog similar.

Mobile is designed as a mobile-only HTML5 theme with a focus on clean, readable, usable display of content and accessibility of functions. You can use the base theme, use one of the included child themes, or make your own child theme.

The intent here is to keep the theme clean, lightweight and simple. There are not oodles of custom variables, theme settings or extraneous stylesheets to manage.

Zen is a modern, powerful, HTML5 starting theme with component-based CSS and a responsive, mobile-first grid design. If you are building your own standards-compliant theme, you will find it much easier to start with Zen than to start with Bartik or Stark. This theme has fantastic online documentation and tons of helpful code comments in its JavaScript, PHP, HTML, CSS and Sass.

Bluebreeze is a clean, neat and blue theme. It has a classic 2 or 3 column liquid width layout with sub theme for fix width.

• It is based on the great .tpl-file structure of the zen theme.
• It includes some icons and puts focus on a clean and easy design.
• It's blue.

Amadou is a three column theme with both sidebars on the right.

The Silk icons set used for this theme has been removed from the Drupal repository. The icons are not licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) and violated Drupal Git policy.
