The Webform 3.x module allows you to assign webforms to any Drupal content type that you want to have signups.
This module allows you to create an (unpublished) webform node as a signup form template
That webform's form components will be made available to each node of the content type you indicated as needing to have signup functionality.

You'll be able to select multiple content types that serve as "events" and can have a webform serve as signup form.

Comicdrop is a single stop module designed to create and manage a set of features to support the webcomic use case. This includes additional forms of pagination by node type, forum integration, archive and calendar blocks and other basic configurations a non-technical end user (webcomic artist) could use in order to quickly spin up a webcomic site.

If you currently have a Comicpress site you might be able to convert it to Drupal with http://drupal.org/project/wordpress_migrate

Audience provides an abstract definition of user groups and types in a given context. These definitions are called "Audience presets" and can be used by other modules to control different types of audience related actions or permissions. By using CTools these audience presets are exportables and can either get stored in a database or live in code provided by modules.

This project provides a views filter that allows users to control which fields are displayed.

To use, install the module, then add the Global: Control field visibility filter to your view. Select which fields are controllable (either defaulting to visible or invisible). This will add an exposed element that allows users to toggle the fields you specify on or off.

Luke Wroblewski talks about RESS, responsive design + server-side components. Its a hybrid approach that combines responsive design with server-side software that tweaks the the rendered HTML for groups of device capabilities.

Overview

This module provides an additional Views plugins, named Braincloud. Braincloud displays taxonomy terms in a HTML5 canvas element using Processing.js.

Processing.js is the sister project of the popular Processing visual programming language. It's not magic, but almost.
